The Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking assistance from the Tatura community in developing a website for the town.
Council's Business Development Officer Alicia Keogh said the website will be used as a tool to attract tourists and potential residents and to keep residents up-to-date regarding events and news for the town."The website will feature news, upcoming events, photos, tourist attractions and any other information the community thinks is relevant," Ms Keogh said.
"We are asking residents to send in photos, information on upcoming events or contact details to include on the site.
"We are hoping to have the site live by the start of June, so we want people to submit their items as soon as possible.
"Websites are one of the main sources of information for potential tourists and it is increasingly important to have a web presence.
"We want to promote the town any way we can to attract visitors to the area and it may show locals some attractions they may not be aware of."
The website is one project being funded by the Council as part of a township marketing plan recently developed for the town.
Any information or photos can be emailed to alicia.keogh@shepparton.vic.gov.au or left at the Tatura Guardian office, 160 Hogan Street Tatura.
