GV BRaIN dinner a success

News article released on Monday 26 May 2008

The second Goulburn Valley Business Rural and Industry Network Business Dinner for 2008 was held on Thursday 22 May and has been deemed a great success by organisers.

GV BRaIN Chairperson Kylie Trevaskis said the 200 guests were extremely impressed by keynote speaker John Anderson's address.

"John Anderson, the founder of Contiki, shared the very personal and extraordinary story of the first few Contiki trips and how the business has grown to become an international brand name.

"Guests also participated in a number of games throughout the evening designed to encourage networking. We try to create an environment that encourages networking and it's fantastic to see such a large and diverse group of business people interacting.

"It was also pleasing that a large number of people who attended the business dinners that featured David Parkin and Peter Irvine came back for this event. It shows that we are attracting relevant speakers and our business representatives are enjoying their evening.

"We are looking forward to the future events for 2008, including our dinner in August featuring Stephen Mayne, founder of Crikey.com.

"We are also delighted to announce that we have secured Andrew Demetriou as the keynote speaker for our November event. Andrew's reputation as the Chief Executive Officer of one of Australia's most high profile organisations, the Australian Football League, will ensure a great turn out for this event.

"Tickets for the Andrew Demetriou dinner will go on sale in October, however those attending the August dinner will be able to pre-book to ensure they will not miss out.
