Seven communities in Greater Shepparton hold community celebrations in their townships on Australia Day.
Tuesday 26 January, 2010, varying times
All of the celebrations include a flag raising ceremony, the national anthem and the presentation of the local Citizen of the Year awards. Varying events occur and the different events with some providing a free breakfast or lunch, entertainment, keynote speaker and many other activities that bring the community together for this special day. Nominations for Australia Day awards are encouraged from any community member so if you know someone who deserves recognition, contact your local Australia Day committee or nominations can be found on the Greater Shepparton City Council website, under Tourism/Conferences and Events.

Ceremony/Event information:
- Dookie will start the celebrations in the CWA Gardens, with a free sausage sizzle breakfast at 8.00am, followed by a flag raising ceremony, award presentations and keynote address by Australia Day Ambassador Greg Evans.
- Murchison will also commence celebrations with a free sausage sizzle breakfast at 8.15am in the swimming pool grounds with a keynote address by Australia Day Ambassador Mark Stone, followed by entertainment, award presentations and the Duck Grand Prix.
- A free bbq breakfast will kick off events in Arcadia at the Community Hall at 8.30am followed by a keynote address Australia Day Ambassador Dr Bernie Jenner and presentation of awards.
- Tatura and District celebrations will begin at 8.30am with a sausage sizzle breakfast at the Italian Social Club Rooms and will include presentation of awards, local guest speakers and a musical item by past and present members of Turaton. This event will conclude at 11.00am with morning tea.
- In Shepparton, a short march from the Victoria Hotel to the Queens Gardens at 9.30am and a flag raising ceremony will mark the commencement of events followed by the presentation of awards. Ann Peacock is the Australia Day Ambassador for this event and Greater Shepparton Mayor Geoff Dobson will conduct a citizenship ceremony as part of the celebrations in Shepparton.
- Mooroopna's festivities will commence at 10.30am with a flag raising ceremony to open the celebrations. Stefan Romaniw OAM, will speak as the Australia Day Ambassador, preceding the awards presentations and this event will conclude with a free bbq lunch and an opportunity to view a display of vintage motor vehicles.
- Toolamba's event starts at 11.00am and will finish with a free barbeque lunch held at the Toolamba Recreation Reserve and will include an address by Australia Day Ambassador Greg Evans and award presentations.
