Strategic Planning

The Strategic planners form part of the Councils Planning and Development Department and are responsible for the development of strategies, policies and frameworks which aim to ensure that planning, investment and decision making is relevant to the needs of the community and provides a sustainable base for future generations.

The use, development, protection and conservation of land in the City of Greater Shepparton is governed by the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme. The Planning Scheme is a statutory document and sets out the objectives, policies and provisions to regulate the use and development of land.

Council is constantly reviewing the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme and developing new policy documents and strategies to ensure that planning, investment and decision making for Greater Shepparton is continually relevant to the municipality.
