Community Plans

Greater Shepparton City Council is committed to develop community plans for small towns.

A community plan is a written document that investigates the current situation in relation to all aspects of a community; social, physical, economical and environmental. It identifies what the priorities are for the community which can be used to inform Council and other stakeholders who provides physical and financial resources for the region.

The community plans in Greater Shepparton are developed in line with the philosophy of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). It involves the community taking ownership of the development of its community plan and to work in partnership with the Council.

A community plan should reflect what the community sees as their vision for the future and what its priorities are for improving and developing the community.
