Weeds are a major problem in the City of Greater Shepparton. Described as ‘a plant out of place’, weeds can be categorised into three main groups – noxious, agricultural or environmental, and are extremely expensive to control.
As a landholder, become familiar with weeds in the region, and control them on your property and adjacent roadside.
Chilean Needle Grass in a newly emerging weed in the Shepparton district. It looks very similar to our native spear grasses, but is extremely invasive and can cause serious injury to stock.
