The Council has received a request from Shepparton Villages to purchase part of Chas Johnson Reserve, from the Council, for future growth of Tarcoola Villages.
At its meeting on 18 May 2010, the Council considered a request from Shepparton Villages Incorporated to purchase part of Chas Johnson Reserve, from the Council, for future growth of Tarcoola Villages.
Chas Johnson Reserve is located on the corner of Balaclava Road and Packham Street Shepparton, being certificate of title volume 9512 folio 395. The area considered for sale is approximately 2.25H and is currently public open space.
Greater Shepparton City Council resolved to give public notice, in accordance with sections 189 and 223 of the Local Government Act 1989, of the proposed sale of the property, which would be on the condition that the property is used for the expansion of Tarcoola Villages.
Extensive public consultation was undertaken between January- July 2010. The Council considered the Community feedback in making its decision. The matter was resolved at the Council meeting Held on 16 November 2010. The Outcome of the matter was that the Council resolve to sell to Shepparton Villages Inc.
