Knight Street Drainage
Council will be installing underground stormwater drainage pipes in Knight Street
Council will be installing underground stormwater drainage pipes in Knight Street between Wyndham Street and The Boulevard outfall, Shepparton.
The works will be undertaken by Mawson Constructions Shepparton Pty Ltd. and commenced on Monday 16 January 2012.
The contract works have been delayed as a result of wet weather, flooding and design changes. The scheduled project completion is early June 2012.
The project works will include:
- Site establishment and traffic management
- Delivery to site, excavation and installation of concrete stormwater drainage pipes (sizes vary from 600mm to 1050mm diameter) up to depths of 4.5m below ground level.
- Backfilling of the pipeline trenches and restoration of surfaces
- Supply and installation of a Gross Pollutant Trap
- Relocation of some existing services.
To date, Mawsons have completed the following:
- Installation of the drain outfall end-wall and rock beaching
- A Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT)
- Box culverts under GV Water assets
- Over 300m of 1050mm diameter concrete pipes at depths of over 4 metres
- 8 drainage pits
Council recognises that the works will cause a temporary inconvenience in the area and we ask for the community's compliance with all the traffic management signage.
