This is not a love story... it's a story about love.
A collaboration of award-winning independent theatre-makers, The Escapists create shows that celebrate theatricality, imagination and the joy of play.
Using chalk, sock puppets, a projector and over two-dozen characters, the creators of Attack of the Attacking Attackers! spin a tall tale of whimsy and architectural enlightenment. This is the story of Thom and Alethea, two neighbours in an apartment block are trying desperately to keep their lives from falling apart. But the Wall that stands between them has decided they belong together.
With puppetry, physical performance, stand-up and illustration, Lucas Stibbard’s captivating performance is accompanied by live music from Neridah Waters.
Following a sellout acclaimed season at Brisbane’s Metro Arts and the Adelaide Fringe Festival, this unique theatrical experience excites and delights audiences and 2011 seasons are scheduled at La Boite Theatre Company and HotHouse Theatre . Critical Stages is delighted to partner with The Escapists and MAPS QLD to develop a touring production which can be tailored to the demands of individual venues on the national circuit.
