Recent acquisitions from the Shepparton Art Gallery collection
Until 7 December
Shepparton Art Gallery will celebrate the opening of the refurbished Community Gallery with an exhibition of recent acquisitions drawn from the permanent collection. The exhibition demonstrates the Gallery's comprehensive approach to the ongoing development of the ceramic collection as well as the supporting painting and works on paper collections. Many of these acquisitions would not have been possible without the generous support of our benefactors and donors.
The exhibition includes works of regional, national and cultural significance by: Sir John Longstaff, Arthur Boyd, Godwin Bradbeer, Deborah Halpern, Les Blakebrough and Col Levy
Among Friends
Friends of the Shepparton Art Gallery Society Members' Exhibition
12 December to 8 February 2009
The Shepparton Art Gallery is pleased to present Among Friends, an exhibition showcasing the many talents of members of the Friends of the Shepparton Art Gallery Society. The exhibition brings together a diverse range of mediums including ceramics, painting, print-making, textile media and sculpture.
Doin It In the Country
HYPE Youth Arts Group and School of Cultural Arts
12 December to 8 February
Doin' it in the Country is a celebration of a year of visual arts skills development and creativity by young local artists. The artists showcased in this exhibition have been involved a series of workshops with professional artists in 2008 through the Shepparton Art Gallery's HYPE Group or are graduating students from Jan Donaldson's School of Cultural Arts. This collection of work stands as a testament to a commitment by the Art Gallery and The School of Cultural Arts to the value of fostering professionalism in the visual arts for young people in a regional area such as this.
