28 Oct — The Greater Shepparton City Council is working with EcoRecycle to give residents the opportunity to dispose of their unwanted household chemicals for free.  

24 Oct — Murchison Primary School has become the first school in Greater Shepparton to develop and maintain a Riding School Bus program.  

24 Oct — Following an extensive community consultation program and the adoption in principle of the Greater Shepparton 2030 Strategy by the Council in July 2005, a new Municipal Strategic Statement has been prepared which will be the statutory means of implementing many of the outcomes of the 2030 strategy.  

21 Oct — The “Australia Needs Skills” expo, held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Saturday 15 October, has been heralded as a success.  

21 Oct — The Greater Shepparton City Council will celebrate Children’s Week, 24 to 28 October, with a series of ‘Picnics in the Park’ in Shepparton, Mooroopna and Tatura.  

21 Oct — Andrew Furphy will speak on his book Furphy: The Water Cart and the Word at the third lecture in the ‘Let’s Talk Art’ lecture series.

17 Oct — The Small Business Commissioner Mark Brennan will be visiting the Greater Shepparton Business Centre tomorrow, Friday 14 October between 11.00am and 12.00pm to meet with tenants and discuss any issues or comments concerning small business operators in Shepparton.  

17 Oct — A unique partnership between the Greater Shepparton City Council, VicHealth, Unilever Australasia and Tatura Primary School has seen the development of the Tatura Walking School Bus™ program.  

10 Oct — Year 12 students throughout the Goulburn Valley will soon be receiving a brochure containing details of the university courses to be offered in Shepparton in 2006.  

10 Oct — The Goulburn Murray Region will be represented by Regional Migration Coordinator Kirsti McQueen at the Australia Needs Skills Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 15 October.  

10 Oct — The Greater Shepparton Best Start Demonstration Project is supporting the Goulburn Murray Social Workers Group to host a community forum on poverty on Tuesday 18 October.  

10 Oct — Word and Mouth and Sun FM will be presenting an afternoon of entertaining viewing on Sunday 16 October at Village 4 Shepparton to raise funds for Relay for Life.  

10 Oct — The Greater Shepparton community is invited to participate in a tree planting day as part of the redevelopment of Vibert Reserve on Wednesday 19 October.  

7 Oct — The Jayco Herald Sun Tour is coming to Shepparton on Tuesday 11 October.  

6 Oct — The Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, is hosting the Fourth Victorian Flood Management Conference at Eastbank from 11 to 14 October.  

3 Oct — Greater Shepparton City Council child care centres will be officially recognised as Asthma Friendly Children’s Services on 4 October.  

3 Oct — The Greater Shepparton City Council has issued planning permits for the redevelopment of Parkside Estate and the development of Parkside Gardens by VicUrban.
