All Abilities Playground closed for maintenance

News article released on Friday 1 June 2012

The All Abilities Playground at Victoria Park Lake will be closed for maintenance from Tuesday 12 to Friday 15 June.

Greater Shepparton City Council's Manager Recreation and Parks Brendan Gosstray said the maintenance works would allow for the oiling of all wood within the playground and minor repairs to be carried out.

"The works will also include the rejuvenation of the garden beds," Mr Gosstray said.

"Council recognises the inconvenience to the community but needs to ensure our facilities are maintained to the best standard for our users.

"This work is part of council's annual maintenance program."

In the event of bad weather, the works will be rescheduled.

Council recently installed an ACLatch (Accessible Childproof latch) at the All Abilities Playground to ensure the facilities are accessible to all in the community.

The All Abilities Playground provides a wealth of play opportunities for children and families of all abilities. The playground is designed and maintained with access as a key priority.
