The 2010 Australasian Schools Cycling Cup will be held in Dookie from Tuesday 23 March until Thursday 25 March.
The Australasian Schools Cycling Cup is a multi discipline high school aged cycling event which includes road race, individual time trial and teams trial, hill climb, mountain bike downhill and cross country and BMX.
Council's Manager Events and Promotions Mark Francis said the event would see more than 500 competitors in Greater Shepparton.
"This is the second year the event has been held in Greater Shepparton and it attracts people from all around Australia," Mr Francis said.
"This year, BMX events have been added to program, which gives competitors the opportunity to trial the new International Cycling Union accredited BMX track in Shepparton.
"It is fantastic for Greater Shepparton to be hosting an event such as this and continues to showcase the municipality as a major events destination."
