Calling all women in business

News article released on Tuesday 1 July 2008

Women in business across the Goulburn Valley are being given the opportunity to participate in a series of specifically tailored seminars designed to increase their understanding of business finance.

The seminars, to be held at the Greater Shepparton Business Centre at 70 New Dookie Road, are a must for female business owners, operators and those interested in enhancing their financial savvy.

Business Centre Coordinator Jens Zimmermann said the range of topics to be covered will give participants a broad understanding of finance.

"The three sessions will cover business finance, approaching business financiers, understanding financial statements, forecasting and budgets, and debt management," Mr Zimmermann said.

An extra bonus for participants is the inclusion of three "one on one" sessions with a mentor from the Small Business Mentoring service.

Workshop leaders Helen Praeger and Jan Barned have worked in the finance industry internationally and in Australia for over twenty years. Their combined experience and knowledge will be invaluable for attending participants.

The course will run over three weeks, commencing Wednesday 16 July.

Dates: 16 July Access to Finance
23 July Understanding Financial Statements
30 July What Financiers Want
Time: 6.00pm - 8.00pm
The cost for the course is $60 per participant and bookings are essential as numbers are limited.

For bookings, or more information, contact the Business Centre on 5832 1100.
