Community Reading Day will be held on Wednesday 16 September from 9.30am to 11.00am in and around the Maude Street Mall.
This will be the second year the event has been held in Shepparton with double the number of businesses and children's groups participating this year.A number of local businesses have signed up as reading venues and small groups of children and adults from local childcare centres, kindergarten and primary schools will make their way through the mall listening to stories at the various venues. Parents and their children are also able to join in on the day.
To add to the fun and excitement, business owners, staff and the children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character or nursery rhyme character, so expect to see Harry Potter, Snow White and Peter Pan wandering the Mall.
The event has been organised by the Greater Shepparton Community Literacy Workgroup.
