Greater Shepparton Councillor Dallas Terlich will attend the Federal Government’s formal apology to the stolen generation in Canberra on Wednesday.
Cr Terlich said he was honoured to represent the Greater Shepparton City Council on such an historic occasion and looked forward to the celebration that would take place.Indigenous performer Archie Roach, who was born in Mooroopna will be among the performers on the day.
Cr Terlich will travel to Canberra with Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative chair Justin Mohamed.
"I feel privileged to witness such a momentous occasion," Cr Terlich said.
"With such a strong Aboriginal heritage in the Greater Shepparton area, the apology will no doubt have a profound impact on our community."
In addition to the Australian Aboriginal flag Council will also fly the Torres Strait Islander flag at Monash Park flag station.
