Shepparton Velodrome will host a number of cycling events on Saturday 4 August, including a massed gathering of cyclists for a photo opportunity.
Bicycle Victoria will be presenting Mayor Michael Polan with a piece of “the Bay Bike,” to celebrate the 20th annual Around the Bay in a Day ride, at 12.30pm on the day.
Shepparton Cycling Club will hold an Olympics Open Day from 11am-2pm, where members of the public can come and try riding on the velodrome for free, and the BMX Club will hold an open day on the adjoining BMX Track, also free of charge. Goulburn Valley BMX Club will also be exhibiting a static display.
As part of the celebration of the importance of cycling in the region, cyclists and would-be cyclists from all over Greater Shepparton are being invited to come along for a massed photo opportunity to demonstrate that cycling matters in Greater Shepparton.
