Floodlighting at Deakin Reserve will be in place by March 2008 in time for an AFL practice match at the ground.
Work began in December on the four light towers each with 20 x 200 watt lamps.
Council Manager Leisure Services Brendan Gosstray said all footings, cabling and switching equipment were installed last week
“The steel towers have been assembled and will be installed in the coming weeks,” Mr Gosstray said.
“The lights will provide 500 lux which is the level of light intensity suitable for AFL practice matches.”
The project was funded by the Council, the Victorian Government, AFL Victoria, and the Shepparton and Shepparton United Football Clubs.
