A new website designed to promote Dookie to tourists and potential residents has been launched.
The website www.lifestyledookie.com.au contains information on tourist attractions, local businesses and lifestyle elements which are unique to the Dookie area.
Greater Shepparton City Council's Manager Economic Development Alicia Keogh said the website was designed to promote Dookie to a wider audience.
"There are a number of tourist attractions in and around the Dookie area that people may not be aware of," Ms Keogh said.
"Dookie community groups are also encouraged to use the website to include information about their forthcoming meetings.
"More and more people are using the internet to organise holidays and day trips as the information is instantly accessible.
"We are also looking to include links to local businesses and tourist attractions to encourage people to visit Greater Shepparton."
Lifestyle Dookie Secretary, Virginia Boyd, said the opportunity to work with the Greater Shepparton City Council to re-vamp and re-launch our website has been fantastic.
"We are so pleased to have a website which can showcase local Dookie and district businesses and community groups and can be used as a vehicle for all our community members to promote their local events and activities," Ms Boyd said.
"Our small community is thrilled with the opportunity to promote our beautiful little town and district and to provide people with up-to-date information about what is happening in and around Dookie."
The website was constructed following a recommendation from a Township Marketing Plan which was developed for the Dookie community in September 2007.
