Greater Shepparton, in partnership with Mooroopna Secondary College, recently hosted a delegation of 27 students on exchange from Oshu City in Japan.
The students participated in home stay with families from Mooroopna Secondary College.
Greater Shepparton Councillor Jenny Houlihan said the students had been given the opportunity to experience a number of aspects of Australian culture.
"The students attended classes at Mooroopna Secondary College, visited Echuca, enjoyed a barbecue and took part in karaoke," Cr Houlihan said.
"It is pleasing to see that Council's relationship with Oshu City continues to grow and strengthen.
"The sister city relationship with Oshu City provides opportunities for social and cultural exchange between Greater Shepparton and Oshu City."
Cr Houlihan presented a gift to the Mayor of Oshu City on behalf of the city.
Greater Shepparton City Council signed a sister city relationship with Oshu City on 3 March 1979.
