The third Goulburn Valley Business Rural and Industry Network Business Dinner for 2008 was held on Thursday 21 August and has been deemed a huge success by organisers
GV BRaIN Chairperson Kylie Trevaskis said the record 230 guests were extremely impressed by keynote speaker Stephen Mayne's address."Stephen spoke about his experiences working in Jeff Kennett's media department and how he went on to become the founder of www.crikey.com.au," said Ms Trevaskis.
"Stephen was able to give the audience a great insight into his views on corporate accountability in Australia and how he pressures companies to be more accountable through his shareholder activism.
"Guests also participated in an activity during the evening designed to encourage networking. We try to create an environment that encourages networking and it's fantastic to see such a large and diverse group of business people interacting.
"It was also pleasing that a large number of people who attended the business dinners that featured David Parkin, Peter Irvine and John Anderson came back for this event. It shows that we are attracting relevant speakers and our business representatives are enjoying their evening.
"We are also delighted that we have secured Andrew Demetriou as the keynote speaker for our November event. Andrew's reputation as the Chief Executive Officer of one of Australia's most high profile organisations, the Australian Football League, will ensure a great turn out for this event."
Tickets for the Andrew Demetriou dinner will go on sale in October through the Riverlinks box office on 5832 9511.
