GV Link ready for investment

News article released on Wednesday 17 March 2010

Greater Shepparton City Council gave notice at its Ordinary Council Meeting today that Council intends to sell or lease land as part of the new freight logistics centre development GV Link.

Councillor Jenny Houlihan said this was the next step in the process in selling off land lots to GV Link operators and investors.

"This is a significant milestone considering the several years of planning that have been committed to the preparation of the GV Link site," Cr Houlihan said.

"GV Link is now at the stage where individual lots can be considered for sale or lease or a combination of both.

"Council has been promoting the benefits to businesses and developers for some time now and is currently in discussions with potential investors.

"It is thought that the sale of lots will progress over a number of years, as more stages of the GV Link project are developed.

"If there are any potential investors out there that have not made contact to Council now is the time."

The process for the sale or leasing of the land has not yet been finalised, but may be by private treaty, auction, tender or expressions of interest.

Submissions should be marked ‘GV Link - intention to sell or lease land' and addressed to Chief Executive Officer, Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632, via email council@shepparton.vic.gov.au , or online via the GV Link webpage. Submissions should be received by 5.00pm Friday 16 April 2010.
