This month’s Goulburn Valley Business Rural and Industry Network (GV BRaIN) dinner will feature one of Australia’s most perceptive social critics, Phillip Adams.
For more than 40 years Phillip Adams' columns in major newspapers and magazines have provoked discussion and outrage. He has worked as a journalist with The Australian since the early 1960s and his books including Adams Versus God, The Penguin Book of Australian Jokes, Retreat From Tolerance, Talkback and A Billion Voices have sold over a million copies.
GV BRaIN Chair Kylie Trevaskis said the network is pleased to have secured a keynote speaker of the calibre of Phillip Adams.
"His newspaper columns regularly challenge and stimulate debate and we are looking forward to a lively presentation," said Ms Trevaskis.
"GV BRaIN is a strong network and an increasing number of people are taking up the opportunity to come along and hear from a high quality speaker.
"The dinners are informal and attendees have plenty of time to network and meet people from other businesses and industries."
The dinner will be held on Thursday 26 February from 6.30pm at the McIntosh Centre at the Shepparton Showgrounds.
Tickets are available for $65 each which includes finger food, a two course meal and drinks.
A 2009 Speaker Package is also available offering people the opportunity to secure a place at this year's four keynote speaker functions at a discounted price. The package includes Phillip Adams in February, Natasha Stott Despoja on Thursday 4 June, Diana Williams (founder of Fernwood Women's Health Clubs) on Thursday 20 August and the inspirational Robert de Castella on Wednesday 18 November.
