Veterans' Home Care is a Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) program that helps veterans and war widows/widowers with low care needs to remain in their own homes for longer.
Veterans' Home Care extends the range of home support services provided by DVA to veterans and war widows/widowers to include:

Services such as Meals on Wheels are provided through arrangements with State and Territory Governments. DVA already provides community nursing, home modifications, other allied health services and rehabilitation appliances.

Partners and carers are not eligible for Veterans' Home Care services unless they have their own Gold or White Card. However, they are still eligible for respite care if they care for a veteran or war widow/widower. Commonwealth and Allied veterans are eligible for respite care related to their disabilities but not other Veterans' Home Care services.
Both these groups can be assessed for home support services through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program.
