Shepparton Art Gallery
The Shepparton Art Gallery is located across two floors of exhibition space in the Eastbank Centre, 70 Welsford Street, Shepparton.
On the ground floor the gallery has a permanent exhibition of Australian ceramics, which includes work from the first commercial potteries, the development of studio pottery, and showcases contemporary ceramic design and sculpture. On the upper floor the gallery presents its permanent collection of Australian painting and works on paper.
There are also two dedicated temporary exhibition spaces, one which presents a program of exhibitions that derive from the communities and artists of Greater Shepparton, the other which presents touring exhibitions, bringing a diverse range of Australian and International art to the region.
A significant aspect of the gallery’s work is the biennale Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award and the national Indigenous Ceramic Art Award.
RENOVATIONS AT THE GALLERY
The gallery is currently undergoing extensive renovations on the ground floor including a new entrance, shop and flooring.
Although the gallery will remain open throughout the renovation period visitors are advised to confirm opening hours prior to their visit, as there may be short periods when the gallery will need to close in order to accommodate the building program.
Visitors are invited to view the comprehensive display of Australian ceramics from the permanent collection as well as changing temporary exhibitions on the first floor (lift available).
Publications relating to the gallery's permanent collection and the Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award will be available for purchase. However the gallery shop will be temporarily closed.
We apologise for any inconvenience our visitors may experience during this time.
