Community Safety

Community Safety focuses on enhancing the awareness and capacity of residents, businesses and visitors to act, live and work safely, employing a range of information, education and community development approaches.

Greater Shepparton City Council is commited to identifying and acting on local community safety priorities to ensure that Shepparton's diverse communities feel safe, respected, proud and resilient.

Community safety has been identified as a priority for Greater Shepparton's local community and as a result forms one of the key strategic objectives identifed in the Council Plan and Greater Shepparton 2030 Strategy.

On 21 June 2011 Council adopted the Safer City Strategy 2011-2014  for the CBD and Victoria Park Lake Precinct.  This document was developed after an extensive community consultation process and identifies initiatives to address the community safety issues which where identified during this process together with some more broader strategies.

For more information please contact the Community Safety Officer on 5832 9792.

Together we can create a safer community to work, live, learn and play.
