During Community Safety Month 2011 Council invited Primary Schools across the municipality to encourage students to think about safety within their community, neighbourhood, school and/or home by entering a competition specifically designed for this purpose.
Preps, Grades One and Two were invited to participate in a colouring competition with the choice of four different colouring sheets each with a different safety tip, and Grades Three, Four, Five and Six using their creative abilities to produce a `community safety hint' in whatever form they wished.
The entries received were absolutely fantastic with a lot of effort and thought put into developing them by the students. With over 500 entries received the independent judging panel had a difficult time choosing two winning entries from each of the below categories.
Congratulations to the following winners:
Prize packs were presented to each winner as well each winning entry being allocated a month in which their entry will be highlighted on this page for the next twelve months.
Congratulations to all who participated with many thanks to the Judging Panel for their hard work.
