This is a two day training program based on six seperate modules.
This multidisciplinary professional development training for staff working in early childhood and family services was developed as part of the Best Start Demonstration Project in partnership with Berry Street Victoria and FamilyCare. It has been delivered twice a year since 2006.
This two day training brings together the theory and practice skills of:
- Family Centred Practice
- Strengths Based Practice
- Reflective Practice
- Building Strong Interagency Relationships and Collaborative Practice.
The six module program is expertly coordinated by Sue Lorains on behalf of Berry Street Victoria and Diane O’Bree from FamilyCare; who have been the key presenters for this professional development initiative since it was first launched in the format of Family Centred Practice Training in 2005.
The modules are set out in a resource folder which is provided to each participant, and presented on the day through matching Powerpoint presentations. Resources are stored on a CD Rom format.
The Modules are:
Module 1: Introduction
Module 2: Family Centred Practice
Module 3: Attachment
Module 4: Family Diversity
Module 5: Reflective Practice
Module 6: Putting it into Practice
Readings are provided for each module.
The registration fee is currently $260.00 with the intent that this fee covers all costs to achieve sustainability. The ongoing support of local agencies is therefore essential.
This resource is internally evaluated through:
- Participant feedback gathered at the time of the training
- Presenter reflection and feedback
- A summary report written to capture the above and provide recommendations for future improvements.
