How do I dispose of... ?

Read below for useful information on the proper disposal methods for the following materials:

Farm Chemicals

The Council will be hosting a ChemClear Collection Service later in 2007. Details will be posted when available.

Large amounts of oil (over 20L)

The Transfer Station in Wanganui Road will soon have the facility to accept up to a 200 litre drum of oil. It is anticipated that this service will be in place towards the end of October 2007. Otherwise, Nationwide Oil (9318 4400) collect used oil from our Depot and numerous other sites (ie mechanics, workshops etc.) around Shepparton. If the oil can’t be stored at one of these places, collection will incur a $110 fee. Nationwide Oil only collect the oil, not the containers. The empty containers can be collected by Osborne Drums (0418 597 723), Nurmurkah Rd Shepparton.

Paint and household chemicals

Council now has a permanent ‘Detox Your Home' collection service that accepts the following items: paint, batteries, gas bottles and fluorescent tubes.

The Council will be hosting a mobile 'Detox Your Home' collection on Saturday 1 November between 8.00am and 11.00pm at the Shepparton Transfer Station, Wanganui Road Shepparton. Paint and household chemicals will be accepted for free on this date. For further information on the safe disposal of paint and household chemicals.
