The Council operates the following landfills:
Cosgrove
(not open to public except on the first Wednesday of each month for local residents)
Cosgrove is the major landfill in the Municipality and is licensed by the EPA.
A weighbridge is installed at this facility.

Hours
8.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
8.00am - 12.00pm Saturday
Closed: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Good Friday
Charges
Account customers are charged the following rate:
- Municipal waste $50 per tonne
- Commercial and Industrial waste $59 per tonne
- Prescribed waste $142 per tonne
- Building and demolition waste $59 per tonne

Murchison
(open to the public)
Murchison is a small local landfill & is programmed to be replaced by a Transfer Station during 2007.

Cnr Old Whroo Rd and Cassidy Rd
Hours
Open Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, 1.00 pm – 4.00 pm
Charges
$21 per cubic metre for municipal waste.
Large loads and commercial waste may be directed to Cosgrove Landfill. Please contact the Council on (03) 5832 9700 for more information.
