Just in case you haven't heard - KidsFest 2006 is coming to Shepparton in the last week of the September school holidays. Shepparton Show Me is proud to support this unique event as part of its sponsorship program. The flow on effect from visitors to the region from this five day event will benefit retailers and businesses in Shepparton, ensuring many more return visits to the area.
KidsFest is a five day children's festival beginning on Wednesday 20 September 2006 and hopes to attract children from around the Goulburn Valley and beyond to experience this wonderful attraction. The event aims to celebrate the region's cultural diversity through play and comprises of two stages, each hosting a coordinated series of shows and programs, two indoor areas for craft displays and activities, a sideshow alley and display area, as well as travelling performers and buskers.
The major entertainment acts that have been confirmed are the Madagascar Show appearing on all five days, Justice League Show which include Batman and Wonder Woman on all five days, Australian Idol's Ricky - Lee appearing on Thursday, Wild Action (Mobile Zoo) on Wednesday and Thursday, Grease Tribute Show on Saturday afternoon, Miniature Railway Expo on all five days and AFL and A League player appearances. This is all capped off with a fireworks spectacular on the Saturday night.
TV advertising has been concentrated in the Bendigo and Albury windows, seen in various timeslots including Australian Idol and Neighbours to capitalise on the two main drawcards Ricky-Lee Coulter from Young Divas and Australian Idol and Ryan Moloney, who plays ‘Toadfish' on Neighbours. All TV advertising features the Show Me animation, with the radio commercials using the Show Me jingle.
Ticket and accommodation packages are available with an estimated 1000 families visiting the event each day. Tickets are available from KidsTown, the Visitor Information Centre and Greater Shepparton City Council. Tickets can also be purchased in person, by mail or telephone.
