Shepparton Show Me Supertram
A supertram incorporating the ribbons currently used in all Shepparton Show Me campaigns zoomed around Melbourne from December 2005 to February 2006, spreading the word that Shepparton is a great place to visit.
Capitalising on the influx of people to Melbourne during the Australian Open, Grand Prix and Commonwealth Games, the Shepparton Show Me Panel decided to take to the streets of Melbourne and highlight Shepparton as a place to visit, whether a day, a weekend or something a little more permanent.
The Shepparton Show Me Tram left from the Malvern Depot, which saw the tram travelling along Lyon Street, Swanston Street, St Kilda Road and incorporating the suburbs of Hawthorn, Canterbury, Glen Iris, Malvern, South Yarra, Carlton and Brunswick .
The tram was officially launched on Thursday 8 December 2005 in the Atrium at Federation Square , attended by sporting stars, business people, musicians, former residents and current member of the Shepparton community.
We are showcasing the best that Shepparton has to offer to Melbourne, enticing them to the area and the best way we are able to do this is to show the immense sporting and business talent we have produced.
