The Shepparton Show Me Supertram was launched on Thursday 8 December 2005 in the Atrium at Federation Square by the Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Cr. Jenny Houlihan.
Hosted by Adam Furphy, the event featured AFL legend Adrian Hickmott speaking on his decision on a tree change and move his family to Shepparton and a special acoustic performance by Adam Thompson, formally from Chocolate Starfish. Nicky Whelan, the face of Shepparton Show Me was a special guest, as was Greater Shepparton City Council CEO Bob Laing and Cr Eric Bott.
Local Shepparton residents and former residents now living in Melbourne attended the event, which was reported widely on radio, TV and print. Channel 10’s Mike Larkan presented the weather from Federation Square with the six Moooving Art cows that were herded down to Melbourne for the launch.
